The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. There are five affiliates in the AAANM region. Serving Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie and Kalkaska counties is Northwest Michigan Chapter. Serving Antrim, Charlevoix and Emmet Counties is Northern Lower Michigan Chapter. Goodwill Homeless Shelter The Goodwill Inn Homeless Shelter is owned and operated by Goodwill. We provide emergency shelter and access to donated food to homeless men, women, and families in Northern Michigan. Housing placement services, job placement services, vocational services, life skills classes, case management, and children’s services are also provided through an agreement with Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan, Inc.

Healthcare Regional Skills Alliance of Northwest Michigan The Healthcare RSA is composed of partners from private and public sectors who are committed to finding solutions to workforce issues in a the healthcare industry, which is the region’s fastest growing labor market. The Healthcare RSA sponsors topical trainings for healthcare workers in the acute, community, and long-term care settings. Trainings are provided by Community Services Network of Michigan, local colleges and hospitals, and include Basic Healthcare, Certified Nurse Aid, and Staff Development.

Manistee County Medical Care Facility (MCMCF) The Manistee County Medical Care Facility (MCMCF) is a skilled care, not-for-profit nursing facility located in Manistee, Michigan. Operated by the County of Manistee in conjunction with the Department of Human Services of the State of Michigan, the facility has 122 beds and provides complete skilled nursing care, including comprehensive rehabilitation services.

Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency NMCAA is a non-profit Community Action Agency serving ten counties of northwest lower Michigan and operates the home Weatherization program, the Senior Nutrition and Meals on Wheels programs, the Head Start/Child Development program, and the Community Services program.

Northwest Michigan Council of Governmants Northwest Michigan Council of Governments NWMCOG provides services and programs for the ten county region in Northwest Michigan. Founded in 1973, NWMCOG facilitates and manages several programs for the ten counties in our region. These programs include Northwest Michigan Works, Workforce Development Board, Northwest Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center, TeamWork NorthWest, the Procurement Technical Assistance Center program, Northwest Michigan Sustainable Business Forum, KAL-TEC, Healthcare Regional Skills Alliance of Northwest Michigan, the Regional Planning Department and the Regional Repository for US Census data.
